Healing Steps Of Acupuncture
Lisa M. Mackay, Lic. Ac.
I am licensed with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine. As a graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture with a Master’s Degree in Japanese and Chinese acupuncture and have been operating a private practice for over ten years, I specialize in the treatment of fertility issues for both men and women.
Acupuncture works on our reproductive system and can help to improve the function of the ovaries. High levels of FSH show poor ovarian function, acupuncture can decrease FSH levels by changing hormone levels and ovarian function. It can help with maintaining embryos as well as grow healthy strong ones. If using an IVF or IUI program it can help support ovaries to better respond to the stimulating drugs by helping to reproduce more follicles and good quality eggs and it helps thicken the lining of the uterus by regulating the estrogen and progesterone levels.
For men who are having fertility issues acupuncture can improve semen quality and quantity. Doing this can improve the health of the embryo which then reduces the risk of miscarriage.
